An adobe house in Trujillo
A colonial mansion in Trujillo's centre with painted courtyards and an easy run out to Chan Chan.
Mon–Fri, 09:00–18:00 (Lima time)

The North
The largest adobe city in the Americas, and the coast where surfing began
Chan Chan was the Chimú capital: a city of mud-brick walls carved with fish and birds, spread across the desert by the sea. Nearby, the Moche temples of the Sun and the Moon still show their painted friezes. Finish with a ride on a caballito de totora, a reed boat fishermen at Huanchaco still use.

Causa limeña
Layers of yellow potato mashed with lime and ají amarillo, filled with chicken, tuna or crab. Cold, bright and very Lima.
